Sweet Waffles

You can't beat a good waffle- especially one dripping in our Sundae Strawberry Sauce!

Ingredients
- 2 cups Plain flour
- 1/4 cup Caster sugar
- 4 tsp Baking powder
- 400 ml Milk
- 4 Egg
- 1 tsp Vanilla essence
- 150 g Butter, melted
Suggested Serving Ingredients
- Barker's Sundae Strawberry Sauce
- Strawberries
- Banana
- Thickened cream
- Icing sugar, to dust
Method
- In a large bowl, whisk flour, sugar, baking powder and salt together.
- Add milk, eggs and vanilla essence. Whisk until just combined. Add melted butter and whisk until smooth.
- Cover and refrigerate until ready to use.
- Heat your waffle maker to the desired setting. Fill with mixture (it will expand quite a bit on cooking) and cook waffles to your liking. Keep warm in a low oven (~100ºC) on a rack, if needed.
- Add your favourite toppings and serve.
Tips
- Waffle batter can be made the night before and refrigerated until ready to use in the morning.
- Recipe is easily halved to make 3 waffles.
- Try swirling Barker’s compotes or dessert sauces through the waffle batter before cooking. Yum!!
