Pork & Apple Sausage Rolls

These Pork & Apple Sausage Rolls will make a picnic-perfect snack this summer.

Ingredients
- 450 g Good quality pork sausages
- 1/3 cup Barker's Smooth NZ Apple Sauce
- 1 Tbsp Fresh sage, finely chopped
- 1 tsp Fresh thyme, finely chopped
- 1/2 tsp Salt
- 1/4 tsp Black pepper
- 2 Defrosted puff pastry sheets
- 1 Egg
- 1 tsp Water
- 1 Tbsp Sesame seeds
- to serve Barker's Classic Ploughman's Chutney
Method
- Preheat oven to 190ºC fan bake and line a large oven tray with baking paper.
- Squeeze the sausage meat out of the casings into a medium bowl (discard casings). Add Barker’s Smooth NZ Apple Sauce, sage, thyme, salt and pepper and mix until well combined.
- Cut puff pastry sheets in half. Place one quarter of the mince mixture in a long line all the way down the middle of one of the pastry sheets. Roll up to enclose. Lightly press the seam together to seal. Repeat with remaining mixture and pastry.
- Use a sharp knife to slice each roll into six pieces. Place on prepared tray seam-side down.
- Whisk egg and water together until well combined. Brush over the sausage rolls and sprinkle with sesame seeds. Bake for 25 minutes, until golden brown and cooked through.
- Serve warm with Barker’s Classic Ploughman’s Chutney.
