Award Winning Bramble Berries

We were delighted to win the Dry Award at the 2015 NZ Food Awards, announced at a gala dinner in Auckland last night. Michael, our Executive Director and son of founder Anthony Barker gratefully accepted the award (sponsored by Countdown) for Barker’s NZ Seedless Bramble Berries Preserve.

Barker's had three products in the finals this year; Squeezed Rhubarb & Raspberry with Rosehip fruit syrup, NZ Blueberries with Cranberries and NZ Seedless Bramble Berries fruit preserve.

Michael chuckled “Over the past three years our products have been finalists about seven times, so it’s really nice to be get up on stage and to finally nail one for the team! Everyone is really thrilled back in Geraldine.”

And we certainly are!

Our NZ Seedless Bramble Berries Preserve is a blend of New Zealand Blackberries and Boysenberries and is healthier alternative to jam. We’ve talked to our customers and by taking out 17% of the sugar and replacing it with 20% more fruit, it really allows the subtlety of the fruit flavours to come through.
