Start your day with some extra creativity and customise a Layered Parakuihi Jar. Recipe by Naomi Toilalo, Whānau Kai and photography by Olivia Moore, That Green Olive

Ingredients

  • 350 ml jar or wide glass
  • 1/2 cup Miraka tepe (yogurt, plain or fruit flavoured)
  • 1/2 cup Huapata (cereal, use whatever you love)
  • 1/4 cup Your favourite Barker's Squeezy Fruit Preserve
  • Kirīmi tāwhiuwhiu (whipped cream, optional)
  • Hua (berries, optional)

Method

  1. Add half of the huapata (cereal).
  2. Add half of the miraka tepe (yogurt) on to the base of the jar or glass.
  3. Add half of the tiamu (preserve)
  4. Add the second half of the huapata (cereal).
  5. Add the second half of the miraka tepe (yogurt).
  6. Add the second half of the tiamu (preserve).
  7. Finish it off the with a flourish of kirīmi tāhwiuwhiu (whipped cream), a few hua (berries).
