Quick Tips for a Perfect Grazing Board

Now that you’ve got your perfect pairings, here’s a few more ideas for elevating your platters.

  1. Add contrasting colours - bright fruits and fresh greens against pastel cheeses. Fruit for Cheese pastes are sure to bring some colour as well as flavour.
  2. Mix variety - include different textures (soft, crunchy, creamy) and flavours (sweet, salty, savoury).
  3. Prep the meats - offer cured, cooked and smoked meats. Roll or fold slices for easy serving; use toothpicks or tongs.
  4. Cheeses - serve cheese at room temperature. Separate strong and mild cheeses with their own knives.
  5. Plan the quantity - aim for a meat-to-cheese ratio of 1:1 (about 3 slices per person). Add 1–2 pieces of everything else per person. Choose bite-sized items.
  6. Build with the board shape - for round boards, create a wreath effect around the edge and a hero centrepiece in the middle.
  7. Food safety - provide plenty of utensils to avoid cross-contamination. Keep meats chilled until serving and cover food before the reveal.
