Croissants 6 Ways

Serves 6 people

Whether you like it simple with lashings of butter and a lick of fruit-filled jam or jam-packed with all the trimmings, you can’t go wrong with a flaky croissant and Barker’s.

Ingredients

Method

Simply Jam

  1. Slice croissant in half.
  2. Spread generously with soft butter and your favourite Barker’s of Geraldine jam or spreadable fruit.
  3. Sandwich together and serve!

Peanut Butter Caramel

  1. Lightly toast croissant, then slice in half.
  2. Spread the bottom half with a thick layer of Barker’s of Geraldine Dulce de Leche.
  3. Top with sliced banana and drizzle with smooth peanut butter. Sprinkle with chopped, toasted pecans.
  4. Sandwich together and serve immediately.

Black Forest

  1. Slice croissant in half.
  2. Spread the bottom half with Barker’s of Geraldine Morello Cherries jam.
  3. Dollop with thickened cream and top with whole Morello cherries (well drained) or halved fresh cherries.
  4. Drizzle with Barker’s of Geraldine Choc Lovers Chocolate Sauce.
  5. Sandwich together and serve immediately.

Loaded Breakfast

  1. Lightly toast croissant, then slice in half.
  2. Spread the bottom half with hollandaise sauce.
  3. Top with piping hot hash browns, grilled bacon and a fried egg.
  4. Season with salt and pepper and drizzle with Barker’s of Geraldine Chipotle Sauce.
  5. Sandwich together and serve immediately.

Salmon & Scrambled Egg

  1. Lightly toast croissant, then slice in half.
  2. Spread the bottom half with Barker’s of Geraldine Capsicum & Apricot Chutney.
  3. Top with slices of cold smoked salmon and a generous portion of scrambled egg.
  4. Season with salt and pepper and sprinkle with chopped chives.
  5. Sandwich together and serve immediately.

Ham & Brie

  1. Slice croissant in half.
  2. Spread the bottom half with Barker’s of Geraldine Onion Marmalade.
  3. Top with baby spinach, sliced brie and thickly sliced ham.
  4. Finish with a couple more dollops of onion marmalade and sandwich together.
  5. Oven bake at 180ºC for 10 minutes, or until croissant is lightly toasted and brie has melted.
  6. Serve immediately.
